The hands that shaped the stars are the same hands stretched out to save us

The H.A.N.D.S. Approach to Showing Jesus is God

One of the most powerful ways to explain the divinity of Jesus is through something simple and memorable: your H.A.N.D.S..

Each letter stands for a truth that points to who Jesus really is — God in the flesh.

Here’s how it works:

✋ H – Honour

Jesus receives the same honor that is due to God the Father.
In John 5:23, Jesus says,

"That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him."

In Scripture, giving worship to anyone other than God is forbidden — yet Jesus is worshiped, adored, and glorified by angels, apostles, and the church. This honor affirms His divine identity.

✋ A – Attributes

Jesus shares the divine attributes that belong to God alone:

  • Eternality (John 1:1–3 — "In the beginning was the Word...")

  • Omnipotence (Matthew 28:18 — "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.")

  • Omniscience (John 16:30)

  • Immutability (Hebrews 13:8 — "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.")

No created being can possess these qualities. They belong to God — and to Jesus.

✋ N – Names

Jesus carries God's own names and titles:

  • God (John 1:1, John 20:28 — "My Lord and my God!")

  • Lord (Romans 10:9)

  • I AM (John 8:58 — referencing God's name in Exodus 3:14)

  • Alpha and Omega (Revelation 22:13)

These names reveal not only Jesus' authority but His identity as the eternal, sovereign Lord.

✋ D – Deeds

Jesus does the works that only God can do:

  • Creation (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16)

  • Forgiving sins (Mark 2:5–7 — something only God can do)

  • Sustaining the universe (Hebrews 1:3)

  • Raising the dead (John 11:43–44)

His actions speak louder than words: Jesus does what God does.

✋ S – Seats

Finally, Jesus shares the throne of God:

  • He reigns (Hebrews 1:8 — "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.")

  • He is seated at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19, Hebrews 1:3)

  • He shares in divine glory (John 17:5 — "glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.")

The seat of authority is not shared with anyone else — only with One who is equal to the Father.
